What ways are you drawing attention to your IDEAFIT profile?
I’ve noticed that this year, IDEAFIT doesn’t rank as high on a google search for personal training as it did before. Because I use this profile to attract clientele as well as to define myself as a professional, I have been spending a little more time promoting IDEA and was wondering what others are doing to bring this site or their profile more awareness.
I have a link to my profile in the signature line to my emails, and it’s linked to my business Facebook page and to my business blog.
Also, I just encouraged other trainers at my work to add their profiles. They were surprised by a sale that I made without needing their lead pipeline, and I let them know that I have other sources of leads.
Hi everyone. I work on the IDEA FitnessConnect team and I just wanted to chime in and give you some insight into what we are working on and how you can get a head start on benefiting. As the traffic on Ideafit.com grows, we are looking to direct more and more potential clients to qualified fit pros. To do that we will be launching some new initiatives that will emphasize discovery of fitness professionals in ways other than searching in a city or zip code. I can’t tell you exactly what we are working on yet, but I can give you these tips in the meantime:
Social links on your profile:
– Having your Twitter account and FB account hooked up to your profile will be important. Also tweeting/posting quality health and fitness information and links will be key.
Blog:
– If you don’t use our blog system at least link your blog that is on another platform (WordPress, blogger, etc) to your profile.
IDEA Answers:
– Many trainers are getting clients because they are being noticed on IDEA Answers. It is no surprise that potential clients are looking at specific professionals and seeing the helpful answers that they are contributing. Our advice is to continue to be active here. It will pay off more and more in the future as we put more emphasis on this section.
Conversion Rate:
– The percentage of potential clients that visit your profile and contact you is your conversion rate. Needless to say, this is an important stat and those with higher conversion rates will be rewarded in our algorithm. Put your best foot forward by giving the user the opportunity to truly get to know you through your contributions. Don’t under estimate how many visitors you get to your profile, check out your responses on IDEA Answers, your blog, videos, success stories, etc. Potential clients like to gather as much information as they can before contacting a fitness professional. Why not give them the full picture of who you are and what you can offer.
Hi Stephen!
We are so happy to hear that you are using your IDEA FitnessConnect profile to attract clientele.
Just a little background: Our strategy is to optimize profiles to rank locally. Most people searching for fitness professionals type in a search based on their city, such as “Personal Trainer East Ridge, TN”, and so we’ve focused our attention on ranking on Google for individual cities. We currently rank within the top 3 search results in 7,000 cities.
It is always good to think about other ways to promote your profile aside from search engine traffic as you mention. We recommend that you read this blog post on 10 ways to promote your profile here for some tips! http://blog.ideafit.com/blogs/ideafitnessconnect/10-ways-to-promote-your…
