I have a question about pricing. I work at 5 star hotel as their personal trainer but am a independent contractor. The hotel is being reserved in a 5 day conference for a company that wants me to hold a large group fitness class for their 175 attendees (they don’t think everyone will come). They want to pay per hour instead of per person. What is a fair price to charge?
When we host presenters at the club where I work, many ask for a base fee and then a percentage on top of that. Plus expenses. Those are “big name” fitness people.
I’m hoping to do an event early this fall, where people will need to pre-register in order to get the equipment and print handouts in time. For that, we are charging per person, with a cut-off 2 weeks in advance. We also get to stay at the resort where we’re teaching for the weekend.
If I were doing just a flat rate, I’d figure very close to what Karin quoted, looking at my travel time and gas in addition to my teaching time.
