What technology is the fitness industry missing?
I received a contact through my IDEAfit messages that was intriguing. He’s a software developer and asked if there was any technology that our industry is missing, in the event that he could design it.
For me, I’d love to be able to track my client’s workout compliance all in one spot. I can use PTonthenet to send workouts to clients. I can “friend” them on their fitbits and see their steps. But I’d really like to see more activity data about their weight lifting habits and how much of their “homework” weight training they were able to complete. So, an app that would let me track my clients’ workouts (not necessarily see them at the same time because I’m not comparing them to each other) would be great.
True, Natalie, there’s a lot of technology out there. I can’t even decide on what wearable device, if any, that I want because they keep updating.
I think what the gentleman who contacted me was asking is what software or apps or technology assistance would group-ex of personal trainers like.
I think another one that I’d like is a way to store photos of individual clients to show them a slide show of their progress. I’ve heard about Trainer’s eye, which allows side by side comparison of self to self. Maybe something like that where I could easily have a photo album on my ipad mini for each client. A way to store their workouts, progress photos, notes.
