Onboarding is critical.
Making sure new members are introduced to the gym, the equipment, the instructors, and (often forgotten but very important) several other members with similar fitness goals.
As a group-ex instructor, I’m the first person in the room when people enter, and I introduce myself, introduce them to my regular attendees, and tell them what to expect with the class. I’m also the first person to the door at the end of class to give everyone a high-five on their way out and answer questions.
