What makes you a good Personal Trainer?

Hi David,
being passionate about what you do is important in any profession. Taking pride in one’s job no matter what it is separates the good from the excellent. There are many clichés which are a little worn but I find them quite true, such as “You don’t have much competition on the extra mile”.
However, passion is not enough. Professionalism, education and the ability to communicate are cornerstones of any profession.
What makes me (and other trainers) good trainers is the ability to connect to a client. It also means that I may not be a good trainer for some (when our personalities and styles just don’t mesh) but the perfect trainer for others. We are not ‘good’ in a vacuum but only in relation to others.
