What is the quickest weight loss people have experienced?
I’ve hired a doctor who specializes in diabetic-related health coaching. I don’t have diabetes or pre-diabetes, but I had gestational diabetes, which significantly increases my risk of getting type 2 diabetes as I continue to age. Hence the health coaching BEFORE the problem. She’s an ER doctor who decided to go into health coaching to save peoples’ lives and health before she meets them in the ER with diabetic-related complications.
Anyway…. The food plan I’m on isn’t ketogenic, though it does involve lower carb intake, moderate fat and protein intake, and lots of vegetables. At the same time, counseling with respect to changing my relationship with food to dull emotion.
I agree with what you say about sustainability and commitment. They’re important. Although I’m more interested in my blood work than my weight, I’m losing weight. But nothing compared to the losses you’re quoting.
Curious, now that we’re 5 years later, are your clients still maintaining the loss you profess?

Well Zachory, weight loss of one pound a day is excessive. Are you a medical doctor? What type of education, license, or verifiable credentials do you have? The type of weight loss that you are claiming may be possible, but it has been demonstrated over and over that such weight loss is not healthy. I do not need to go to your website because I know the reality of weight loss that is safe and effective. The only way to achieve a caloric deficit great enough to lose one pound in one day is to fast or use stimulants or diuretics. None of these methods is approved by the AMA, ADA, or any legitimate organization.
Claims of more than half a pound of weight loss in one day have been shown repeatedly to be mostly water loss. If there was a truly sustainable way to loss one pound per day that left hydration and lean mass intact, I doubt that this forum would be the first place that we would all be hearing about it. A system that good would be used by every weight loss clinic in the world. The creator would be a billionaire 100 times over. Why is it that you must get your word out in this forum? Why isn’t this miracle being broadcast on every media outlet in the world? This would be completely uncontainable just like a real cure for baldness, poor vision, hearing loss, etc.
You are posting yourself as a Nutritionis/Dietician. Are you a register dietician? I see degrees from CU Boulder. I lived in the Boulder area for years and know a lot of people there. Can you get me a reference for your abilities from a few fitness professionals and physicians there? I would be more than happy to recant my statements if you can give me some proof of your credentials and some research data from any nationally accredited source on your claims.
Hello Zachary Lyon,
Thank you for your comment sent to my email; I do not see it here, so I paste it:
“”I understand, but I never said anything about 4-5 pounds per day. So idk if you’re being serious but there are healthy ways, truly healthy ways, of losing weight quickly AND keeping it off. I keep hearing from people here that it is “not possible” but that is such a limited perspective. True health doesn’t have to be difficult to achieve. I’ve done it, I’ve watched clients do it. It sounds like the people that have not seen their clients keep weight off have been working with people who just simply don’t make the changes necessary. That has everything to do with the limitations of the individual and nothing to do with the principles they are trying to follow.”
In response: I am very serious about the 4-5 pound weight loss on the job, daily in my past history. We also flush the system of poor nutrients without counting calories. We use a very simple food tracking system to make clients visually aware of their eating habits. It is possible to lose pounds quickly; but, not for everyone. Yes, commitment is a big part along with the lifestyle choices. People drop the weight along with toxins, into the toilet, that is why it is called waste. When we refuel with good food the body knows what to do and all is well. When we refuel with junk, the body doesn’t know where to put it so it is stored instead of expelled, adding to the “weight” which can also be distention. I see it many times; this is how clients lose pounds quickly…healthy choices, as opposed to the malnourishing, bad habits.
Take care,
Natalie aka NAPS 2 B Fit.
