What is the healthiest nut butter?
I buy this great product called “trilogy nut butter” “its a blend of cashew, walnut , and almond butter“ Its delicious and gives the unique health benefits of each of these nuts blended into one source. They also have a trilogy butter that blends macadamia, cacao, and cherry. So good!!!

I too recently looked into this. And while I am certainly no expert in the field of nutrition, this is what I learned…..
As has been said, organic nut butters that contain only one ingredient, that of the nut are better. Making it from home, will certainly save you some money, as nut butters can get expensive.
Most health articles, blogs, etc, refer to almond butter as being best. However, any nut butter contains many of the same nutrients. There is a difference in fat content.
As for peanut butter, the real issue seems to be mold. Since peanuts are not really a nut, but a legume, they have a soft shell which can make them susceptible to mold. That mold can be toxic and especially to those who have mold allergies. And honestly, who really wants to be ingesting mold, although it is allowed by the FDA to certain levels. Even organic peanuts can have this mold issue. There is a type of peanut, called jungle peanuts, which tend to be grown in South America which are naturally more resistent to mold.
As for other nut butter difference, it really comes down to a matter of taste, when looking at almond, cashew, sun flower, etc.
Good luck in your search for a good nut butter! My favorite….cashew!
Hello Jason Davis,
Definitely, the healthiest anything is homemade (or storemade by customer) with no additives or preservatives. I would try them all to pick my favorite and eat a variety, as all nuts have nutritional value.
Store-bought organic with only one ingredient (the nut) is the next best thing.
All as the others have already said; I couldn’t agree more.
Take care.
