Each certification reflects on a different type of training and attracts trainers who are interested going after a specific group of clients. It all comes down to how much the trainer knows about the basics of training and exercise science, how much extra education he/she is willing to get so they can stay competitive and on top of their competition and also the passion to do this job and professionalism of the trainer. Certifications are there to verify that the trainer has the required credentials, but that along doesn’t make this person a good trainer. A certification gives you a place to start from and then you have to build on that if you want to become the best trainer you can be. There are many great certifications out there, but they are only part of the whole process. The rest is up to you.
