Be giving. Not overly to where you are putting yourself out entirely but, realize that the client is purchasing an atmosphere that is tailored specific to them. Personal training is meant to be “Personal!” If giving means lending an ear or advice, then that’s what you give. If its motivation or a stalwart example (pillar of strength) then that is what you give. Giving the client what they NEED, not always what they WANT, is the very embodyment of personal training.
Not sure I could narrow it down to one (maybe honesty? with self, clients, employer, media, business community). However, a personal trainer with the following characteristics/traits would be magical:
-certain degree of humbleness
-able to think on feet (or knees, hands, head:)…)
-well-educated and experienced
-healthy role model (in & out of gym)
-body of god or goddess (just kidding:)
