I need to add that there is one exercise which burns more calories per minute than any other, the Kettlebell snatch. It was proven by ACE, that it can burn up to 20 calories per minute.

I’ve got one for everyone… Let’s see what you guys think of this…

Has anyone ever had experience with the Cybex 750AT Total Body Arc Trainer or a similar machine?

These are two links to the 770AT currently being offered by Cybex.. Keep in mind that the cybex website is made to market the equipment, so it has a slant.. just for everyone to get an overview of it and get a grasp on the mechanics involved, check out the links if you’re unfamiliar with the equipment. I’ll be talking about the 750AT, which is very similar to the new 770AT.

We have one of these in the gym, along with about 5 other lower-end models. The 750AT is much smoother, much more customizable as far as resistance and programming are concerned, and it’s also much more efficient at delivering a quality program and fairly accurate read-outs to the client from start to finish.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever been on one of these or something similar to it.. but these things will absolutley put you through your paces! In my opinion, with proper form on this particular machine (I say that because it’s what I’ve worked with extensively), you can get a great combination of strength and endurance training.

Of course there is no miracle exercise that I’m aware of.

I so really like what Andrew had to say about a body squat. I think many people underestimate the power of squatting as far as how beneficial it can be to the body!

Garrett, Is this along the lines of what you were looking for?

I like these simple questions. The answer to this is actually many answers and many variations of those answers. There is no single best exercise as the body will adapt and accomodate to any stress that is repeated long enough. If the stress is too great, the body will diminish. If the stress is too small, no adaptation will take place. Learning to use proper progression/regression and recovery is the key to success in fitness.

Interesting answers. First of all, like the others, I need more clarification on what you mean by ‘trouble spots.’ Eating a healthy diet most of the time, combined with vigorous exercise at least 3 times a week, to me, is clearly the way to achieve and maintain optimum fitness. It’s not magic. Martin, I don’t know what you mean by ‘regression?’

Good luck
