What is the best aquatic fitness certification that can be done home study?
I am currently out of the country and I am ACE certified GF and Red Cross WSI.
If your WSI and GFi certs don’t give you the background and ability to teach aquatic exercise, how can you feel a “distance learning” course without practical application and instruction can bridge that gap? Or are you getting the cert. to have the “paper” to fill a job requirement?
I do feel that an aquatic certification could be a good CEC for those without experience or looking to gain more experience. As a requirement for being an aquatic instructor, I feel it should be one of several options. Your WSI and Group Ex certs should be sufficient for teaching. Or a Group Ex and Lifeguard certs. Any “aquatic exercise” certification that doesn’t require their instructors to be certified Lifeguards at a minimum, would not meet the minimum of safety for working in an aquatic environment in my opinion.
