What is involved in your training program or onboarding process for new personal trainers?
We had each trainer “train us” and would guide subsequent training based on their own individual strengths and weaknesses. That way you aren’t wasting time explaining things to them that they are already good at. I also like using the “strengths finder” assessment with trainers – it’s $10 to help decide what type of business they could build to match their specific personality traits and talents. Some trainers are better at long term planning and goal setting (behavior change, weight loss), while others have more talents around motivation and short-term success. Both can influence retention best when working with clients that fit into their strengths.
