What has happened to the PFIT organization? I can’t find them and I need to renew my PT certification.
Situations like this are tough. It is not good for Personal Trainers or the industry. I would obtain a new certification through an NCCA accredited organization asap and move on. I am a fan of ACE, ACSM, NASM, and NSCA as certifying organizations. I hope you are successful in moving forward and in your life, personally and professionally.
Hello Debra Miller,
I am sorry to hear that; you must be frustrated. I wonder if IDEA, ACE, or another NCCA certifying agency wouldn’t be able to help you with this predicament. If not, the level of education with another NCCA organization will be well worth the time and effort…you have a big head start.
Take care,
Natalie aka NAPS 2 B Fit.
This is a link to another question a while back on this organization: http://www.ideafit.com/answers/trainers-that-have-pfit-certifications-wh…
Karin is right that at this point you most likely need to certify with someone else. If you choose one of the major players you may pay more upfront, and/or the certification process may be more time consuming, but in the long run it pays off in greater name recognition in the industry, as well as in a greater likelihood that it will be around for the long haul.
Good luck.
Hi Debra,
this question has been asked before, and it appears that they have disappeared from the face of the fitness industry. Several colleagues have helped searching without any results.
Of course that is a real bummer for you who has invested time and money into that certification. As far as I am concerned, it is fraudulent on their part to leave their trainers in such a lurch.
Chances are that you will need to certify with another organization. If you do, I would suggest that you pick one of the established ones like ACE, NASM or ACSM who have a long-term track record and and not at all likely to go away at all.
