I am a part time fitness instructor very interested in pursuing a full time career in health and fitness. A friend led me to your site, but I am unclear on your site. I’m told with yearly membership with you, I will learn a wealth of knowledge and I can pursue other certifications (Barre, Personal Training, Nutrition, etc) at a discounted rate. However, I am not finding evidence of this on your site. Can you help me understand if I have come to the right place?

IDEA is an organization for fitness professionals. They host conferences where you can earn CECs. There is also a monthly IDEA Health and Fitness Journal with a lot of information and another opportunity to take CECs. If you click on the “membership” tab, you will see the benefits that come with different levels of membership.
Monetary-wise, the value for me is that I have access to liability insurance at a lower rate. The portal here gives me exposure to potential clients who can find me.
Most certifications are not at a discounted rate just because you are a member of IDEA.
I like IDEA because it allows me to be always at the forefront of fitness trends. Whether I participate in them or not will be my choice but at least I am aware of them.
The discount that I’ve benefit from the most is the reduced rate for attendance at the fitness conventions that IDEA holds several times a year. There is PTI – personal trainer institute – which is held on the east and west coasts. there is IDEA World, which is their largest convention and is typically held in California although I attended it once in Vegas.
