What does your health club offer to new members?
Hi Jane,
The gym I belong to waives the first months fee for new members. Usually the wore “free” gets people excited.
Of course, you can still monetize although it is free by signing up the member with a contract.

Although each club has its own deals and ways of working with new members, the ones I worked at before, they all offered orientation with a trainer and/or one free training session. Some of them paid their trainers for that hour, but others didn’t (it was a good way for the trainer to get introduced to a new member and have the chance to sell their services). Personally, I believe that it’s a good idea for each new member to spend at least one hour with a trainer in the gym because there is a lot to gain and learn during that hour even if they don’t sign up for any sessions at this time.
Hi Jane,
new members pay an initial fee in addition to the monthly dues. That fee covers an assessment and an orientation with a trainer. None of it is mandatory but it is strongly encouraged. Members can also make appointments from time to time to get their program re-evaluated.
