The American Council on Exercise performed a review. Following is the link:
I love p90 for somebody who is already fit and used to working out, definitely not for beginners. The exercises are safe and effective. My biggest priority as a Personal Trainer is to keep my clients safe and injury free. The workouts emphasize proper form and I appreciate that. The video is very motivating and well rounded. I’m also a big fan of using minimal equipment and your own body as a “workout tool”. Great program to kick it up a notch.
I personally love it! I had the opportunity to work out with Tony doing some P90. The program works because it is based on muscle confusion … how often do we tell our clients to change up their exercises??
Variety, structure and the convenience of working out at home!
Sometimes it is difficult not to get distracted with Tony’s antics during the workouts (he’s like that in person too!)
Anecdotally it seems as if people follow it better than some other programs. In that regard it is fabulous. It is heavy on the anterior chain so it should be supplemented with some posterior chain exercises. It’s great for burning calories and for working large muscle groups. I always think it’s funny when I know the people at the gym who are doing the abs from P90X because they are always doing the same funny ab exercsies.
