I think Ariadne hit on something. The HIIT classes have really taken off along with Functional Movement training. They offer big results with relatively little time commitment. That’s important for students and young professionals putting in long hours getting ahead. Programs like Rick Mayo’s Northpoint training offer HIIT and small group functional training at a very reasonable cost in time and money.
That is a good question. What I do know is fitness education is more needed now than before. Most college age children are learning from the internet. Since the internet is far from the truth, education with regards to fitness is going down. Dedication is not what it used to be either. Also, the U.S.A. population continues to grow with first generation immigrants which have many different ideas about exercise. In short, I don’t know what trend will be in. But, education will be very much needed. And, you will have to convince them more than the internet. Not easy. Good luck. Brian Rozzi.
