Thank u Linda/LMT/PT/FT feel lost on how to handle my situation
Hi. If your certifications are current, and you have the other necessary items to work in the field (e.g. liability insurance etc.) then I’d say that with the combination of your certifications, the sky could be the limit for you. Finding senior clients to train and/or provide massage therapy for should not be too difficult. A person holding certifications/licenses in those two areas can offer a combination of services that few others who only hold a training certification can. The true decision is for you to decide for yourself where you’d like to focus your efforts. In my opinion one of the biggest mistakes that we sometimes make, particularly when we’re just starting out in this business, is trying to do EVERYTHING! By trying to do that, we lose the necessary focus to bring our training business from a mere thought to an actual business.
So I say, start by writing yourself a very basic business plan. What do you want to do, and how do you plan to do it. I think that you’re already on the right track because you obviously have the motivation. Again though, make sure that your certifications, licenses (if necessary) and basic business needs (such as liability insurance) are in order before you start.
I hope that this helps and good luck to you.
