What can a personal trainer expect to make hourly?
This is a very important topic for my consideration of personal training, I realize that alot goes into how much you can make. This is the job I plan to have while in college therefore I need to have the ability to pay for my rent at the very least, main point of this is as a first time personal trainer with a nationaly accredited certification would it be reasonable to expect to make $1000 a month working no more than 30 hours a week?
You may want to keep in mind that even at a chain gym, it will probably take time to get booked up to 30 hours per week. I know that LA fitness starts at $12/hour here in Arizona, and 24 hour fitness paid slightly better when they were here.
When applying for chain gyms, ask them about their session rate AND how much selling they do for you. 24 hour fitness paid me well per session, but I also had to do my own sales which meant I was walking the floor at minimum wage until I began to get booked more.
Even with the gym selling training for you, 30 hours may take several months to work up to.
