What are your thoughts on empty stomach cardio?
Doing a Bootcamp 6 week challenge. They want us to do 30 minutes first thing in the morning, eat, then Bootcamp. That is virtually impossible for me without getting up at 3 in the morning and then working all day. They suggested doing it immediately after the bootcamp. I did that today and felt light headed. (Duh) Also – in addition to the Bootcamp classes I am attending I teach 4 other cardio classes and 4 strength/yoga type classes. I feel like I need to fuel more. Thoughts?
Hi Maggie,
I think you answered your own question. :). Yes, your body needs more fuel. The right type of program is what works for you as an individual. You are very active so your body needs more fuel, and especially if you are getting lightheaded. (Don’t let anyone tell you any differently). You do have a lot of classes and your own program going, so please be careful with your workout schedule. You may be overtraining which can lead to fatigue, injuries, irritability, and a host of other symptoms.
P.S.–I’m a little confused by the bootcamp program–you are supposed to do cardio, eat, and then another workout with the bootcamp? Seems like the bootcamp would be enough if it included strength plus cardio in it. Just curious!
