What are your new years goals as a fitness professional?
I currently have a high school senior. His transition to college also marks a transition for me. By next summer I will have a bit more time (still one son in high school, but this one’s schedule is easier) and I have been trying to set long term strategic goals both personal and professional.
I am exploring options for filming some of my sequences. Like Karin I can feel like a bit of a dinosaur…. I sense strongly that my work in the last year has been some of the best I’ve ever done, and I would like to be able to make it available more widely.
On the personal side, once my responsibilities to my family slow down a bit I want to spend more time on day to day work with others in my field. I always do one big training a year, and spend a lot of time seeking out the best trainings I can find, but would like to find more time to learn from my local colleagues (assuming I am not driving over the tristate area to meetings.
I also made some shifts to increase my ‘karma yoga’ practice: giving back to my community and my world more as what is needed by my immediate circle quiets a bit. One always tries to remember that this is central to what it is to be a human, but it can be easy to loose in the day to day work.
