I like to keep my clients motivated by creating an atmosphere of connectedness and membership in a community of fitness minded people. I encourage participation in local fitness events and attending local fitness programs/workshops, etc. I do periodic check-ins with clients where we sit down and talk about how things are progressing, concerns, new goals, new interests, etc. And I attempt to find a motivating incentive that personally fits each client that we can include in their program.
Hello Nolan Ferraro,
I pay close attention to what is going on with the person’s life to help keep them on the right track. If they are happy, I am happy; just so the client sticks with a healthy lifestyle.
I do my best to be there for them at all times. For the times weather keeps us apart, I remind them that shoveling snow and breaking ice are wonderful ways to cross train.

My goal is always to educate, motivate, and empower my clients and class participants–beyond what their goals are. The health coach in me is planning to continue helping my clients not only achieve their fitness goals, but helping them to make long-lasting healthy lifestyle and behavior changes. I want them to be successful for 2016 and the long term.
I am running a short 6 week Fitness and Lifestyle Challenge that will help them take those small steps in behavior toward big health improvements. I incorporate workouts, basic nutrition guidance, and a component of self awareness (which I found to be very successful when I ran it in the Fall). The self-awareness component really helps participants think about themselves and what their strengths and weaknesses are, and understanding more of their behaviors and emotional reactions. That helps them think about taking more of a pro-active approach to their own health and fitness.
The challenge is to help them motivate themselves! 🙂
I’m planning on offering a “buddy system” with a discounted offer for my clients for any new friend/family member/co-worker they bring in, motivating them to help others to commit to a healthier lifestyle. I also plan on doing some educational lectures to help my clients/new clients sort through all of the fitness information out there. It can be overwhelming to newbies with so much contradictory information about wellness & fitness and the lectures will allow them to ask questions and receive educated answers based on the knowledge we trainers receive.
I will also be offering a new workout type (one that I am currently certified in) that can be tailored to each individual & adjusted as the client improves. This will also include helping my clients make better food choices based on their personal goals and their unique body chemistry.
