I agree with Michael, it’s nearly impossible to say “what’s best” for keeping someone full for extended periods of time.
I will say, however, that choosing foods that are nutrient dense would be a good strategy to have. Examples include nuts, seeds, whole grains, or lentils.

well I think there is. I swear by steel cut oatmeal for breakfast. With that in my stomach, I am good to go for quite a while.

The best that works for me is all the food groups at every meal whenever possible. Please do not forget the protein.
I also have homemade oat cereal for breakfast which takes me past the lunch hour.
How long do you mean by a while? We are not made to fast, except for bedtime.
