what are some of the objectives in gym facility
Hi Linda,
if I had to put it into one sentence, I’d say:
“To provide a safe environment where people can go and exercise in pursuit of their personal health and fitness goals.”
Hope this helps.

I would add that another objective is to provide a “resource of wellness and fitness” to its members. By this I mean that gyms or fitness facilities should serve as more than simply a place where you find exercise machines and classes, but also a place where the members can LEARN about their bodies and how they work. A place where they can either get reliable INFORMATION on health, fitness and exercise, OR be directed where they can get such information.

I believe it is rather difficult to make a blanket statement regarding all gym facilities.
Lately, we been seeing many “gym facilities” that are low-cost. So to say that that they are “safe” or venues where one can get reliable and accurate information on health fitness and exercise (at least from my perspective) is a bit broad.
Then you have other “gym facilities” that are much more expensive and are willing to take the time to search for a look for candidates that are well-prepared to create a safe environment. One hasn’t even taken into consideration the mission and vision of the facility in question.
However, I understand your question as asking, what is the overall objective of a gym? If I were to answer it from that perspective, I would have to say that it is a place where people can engage in physical activity.
So that I am clear in how I answered your question (and if I can also step into Karin’s shoes for a moment as well). I try to answer the question that is actually asked, not the question that I want you to ask. Your question IS general in nature (“SOME of the objectives…”) therefore my answer (and I believe Karin’s answer) are general in nature as well. I stand by the answer (and Karin’s) that “safety” and “information” are SOME OF the objectives of a gym since I know of no gym that has an objective of providing an unsafe environment, or that provides no information on exercise (at least not one that has any hope of staying in business).
