The fitness club is going through a renovation and we are looking to forecast numbers for usage based on capacity levels and industry standards. With some research the only number I’ve found is that about 20% of your membership frequently uses the facility, but is this during peak hours or just in general? Does anyone have a procedure of how they plan for membership capacity and staffing needs based on usage.
Hello Ashley Wood,
That’s a tough one to answer. The only way to attempt potential future usage is by the number of people who sign up. If you can get gym members to sign on for a year, you will have a better idea than a month to month signing.
Yes, only about twenty percent use the gym membership on a regular basis at any given time. The peak hours will mostly remain the same time which may be a way to gauge what is going on. Keep a detailed log of who uses what and when to get the best idea.
You already know all this, I am sure. I don’t know if there is a hard and fast rule to figuring this one out.
Sadly, two area gyms closed; it depends on the economy, also, of course.
Good luck to you,
Natalie aka NAPS 2 B Fit.
