If you are a new trainer, I would recommend www.TheSixFigureTrainer.com with Stu. I found the site extremely helpful.
I actually took the e-class Stu does and it really helped me get started. One cool thing I learned was how to use 2 different maps to find high-end gyms in my area to work at and how to get an interview and get hired. Stu was really helpful and super nice. If you have a question, just email him and he’ll get back to you pretty fast.
Hello Alex Hatlevig,
Congratulations and welcome to health and fitness. Starting a business may take away from your studies; so, I would concentrate on finishing college first and work at a gym or other facility for now. Who knows, you may be able to get a job at your school.

Some great advice in this thread already. What I would suggest: make your clients your sales team!
I’d suggest you should focus primarily on your core business. In personal training this is doing a great job (i.e. getting great results) with the people you are currently training.
As far as marketing goes, referrals from your current clients will be the cheapest channel possible, and so by doing a great job with those training with you means you do not have to immediately spend time and resources on other marketing activities.
Think of it this way: if you do a great job with your clients, then they will be selling your product for you every day! They may do this directly (e.g. telling friends) or indirectly (e.g. people noticing them performing well or being in great shape).
adding to the above points, since you are starting it would be best to work in a gym setting,Junior high school, group classes(even as a assistant),also get in touch with a good mentor and work for free, it’s all worth it at the end. The process would take time may be years
Always be willing learn, network with like minded peers & fitness pro’s,don’t think about money (money would come eventually) finally during the initial years 1st 5years find out the ultimate niche client base you eventually want to work with and advance your education that path .
Wish you the best
