This is a very generalized question. Usually the course of action would require a fitness assessment (or one that is more appropriate for this client) in order to get a better idea about this person’s fitness level and actual goals. Also the medical history could play a big role in designing the right fitness plan for this person.

Do an assessment and go from there. Older adults have muscles just like the rest of us and the same organs. Start out slowly, do not be afraid to progress, make sure to have good open communication and keep your eyes and ears open. I love my older adult clients, they are all hard working and highly motivated.
