Louis, you have wonderful credentials! You meet all the requirements to sit for the ACSM CES credential as well as the ACE AHFS credential.
I personally believe you can ethically tell your manager that you are acquiring hours in order to eventually take those credentials.
This will only increase your scope of practice and you will become more marketable.
Make sure you document well as you will need to provide documentation of the special needs/clinical clients you have trained.
Hi Louis. In addition to what Joanne has said, I think that what also appeals to ‘managers’ is their seeing how what you propose will benefit the facility as well. Explain to your manager the “good will” that will also come out of your assisting this client in this way. ‘Pro bono’ work, especially when being donated for the right reasons like yours (a true desire to help or make a difference), goes a long way in building good will in the community, and is some of the best advertising/marketing there is.
