Hi. I recently closed my fitness studio to move out of state. I now want to start networking and gaining contacts in hopes of building a client base in my new location and finding places to teach. I’m in the middle of creating business cards to hand out. My question is, do I use my personal name to market myself or should I use my LLC business name (still a valid LLC in my old state) to market myself? Thanks!
And you may need to register your old business name and LLC in the new state as an out of state or foreign business to use the LLC there. But if you do intend to do that, check what you will need to do if you decide not to continue under the LLC. Some states charge fees to “keep business in good standing” and will report you to credit bureaus if you don’t keep up those payments.
Hello Melanie Fensick,
Congratulations and good luck with your new location. I use both business and personal names; because, people know me by both and my sites are listed as both, according to how the site is set up. This way I get the most exposure possible. You will see this in my signature below. I also use: Natalie aka NAPS 2 B Fit.
