Training clients at Planet Fitness
I recently had some inquiries from Planet Fitness members about me meeting them there to train. I called a few PF locations and they said if I had a membership I could train them there. Can anyone else confirm this? I don’t want to sign up for a membership and then have them come tell me otherwise.
I am certified by ACE and I have insurance.
Thank you!

Hi Rosemary,
Similar to what everyone stated, Planet Fitness has been under scrutiny for many reasons and the CEO or whoever he is has a bad view of personal trainers and that’s why that don’t employee any.
With that been said, I would talk to management about personal training there, typically gyms do not allow outside trainers to come and train unless you’re an employee there. Personally, I would not do it, too many red flags.
If possible, look into training the people outdoors or another location.
Good luck!
Hi Rosemary,
The fact that they want you to join first would be a red flag for me. I’ve been reading a lot about them lately, including reviews (one just opened near me). Like others have already mentioned, do your research.
If you decide to train there, get everything in writing and good luck.
Christine
Hi everyone,
I’m a nationally certified (ISSA, ACE, NESTA) and insured personal trainer and employed by a Planet Fitness franchise. We do not allow outside personal trainers to operate in our facility. It is true we don’t sell training, but this is because it’s included in the membership. We do individualized programs as well as other classes for individual muscle groups and circuit training as well as classes for the Synergy 360 (pf 360 here). I hope this clears up some confusion.
