Trainers, what’s your take on the training/nutrition approach of the Biggest Loser TV series?
As a professional, I do not make comments on such topics in a forun such as this. When asked I say truthfully “I have no comment”.
You can avoid being negative and still get your message across. And not make our profession appear less professional.
I do occasionally use the thumbs up or down to point out clearly good and clearly bad advise. Those getting the thumbs down can contact me to ask for an explanation. I don’t use this feature lightly and always have support for the thumbs down that isn’t from information that I got off a Yahoo! article or some other “psuedo-news” site.
/agree with above posts.
Its not the correct way to go about teaching people to live healthier lifestyles. A trainer going bootcamp on a client would lose that client fast.
The trainer’s approach to training is incredibly unsafe too. Most shows are a lawsuit waiting to happen, but with ABC behind them I’m sure they’re pretty safe.
