Trainers that have PFIT certifications, where and how do we NOW renew?
I don’t know much about this organization; there are a ton of trainer certifications out there. I tried to look them up, and I can see there seems to be some difficulty. They have a record on the list of certifying agencies on the IDEA page, and they seem to have a facebook page up, but the site seems to be down.
Has it been down for a while? If not, it could just be a temporary service interruption. If so something should be posted to the FB, or emailed to those with the certification.
Do you have printed materials from them with contact information? If so you could try contacting the company for more information. The address and area code suggest it is based in Kat Texas, which I believe is near Houston.
They are not NCCA accredited, but instead seem to have NBFE. If you are not able to get information any other way you could try contacting the NBFE.
I suppose the base line questions are: 1. Is this a temporary glitch related to online information? or 2. Is this an issue where the company is changing owners, or shutting down? What is needed is information from the company. Failing to get that you need to decide how far you want to go to make an issue of it. Web sites do go down, and companies do fail. Worst case that they cease to exist you want to keep all of your information, and plan to certify with another company when this one runs out. I know it means more money, but that may be what needs to happen.
Hopefully you will get information from them that will help you figure this out.
There is something to be said for going for one that is NCCA accredited and has a long history…. not only is it well known in the industry, but there is less chance of a problem occurring in continuity of service.
I had a license through them. my renewal was up in January. they took my renewal payment through their site and disappeared. i was pretty upset. no communication whatsoever and left unlicensed. I am going to report them eventually even though it wont do anything, i dont think. I am now pursuing other NCCA approved certification programs..Never thought this would happen since they have been around for 20 years..
