Hello Matthew Feldman,
Yes, sadly, it happened twice. No notice, the doors are closed at one place and the other place took me off the list. It is too bad the second place did not give me time to get the word out. Times are tough, another gym closed; but, at least with notice.
We need to hang in there for this country’s health.

This has never happened to me personally, but I have seen and heard of this happen a few times to local gyms around my area. The gym collected every members fees, memberships, and dues and did not further notify neither the employees or members about their intended closure. The gym was saturated with a hoard of people outside left confused and puzzled. Its a shame really for both the owner/s of the facility and the members.
I did close a facility and kept it quiet until about 30 days before we were going to close. I was attempting to find someone to take over the programs so that the gym could just continue under new management. But several prospective new owners were dragging their feet. And I was having second thoughts on leaving the area. I felt I had to give my members at least 30 days notice. And did so as soon as I made the decision to leave.
I felt badly about only giving 30 days notice. I can’t imagine coming to work to find a “closed” sign on the doors.
