As the gym charges alot to rent. Would be helpful and any other tips you can offer to start my own business thank you
First you need to honor any agreement you have with the gym you work at. If you have signed a non-solicitation agreement, taking clients away form there might get you into some unwanted legal issues. Having said that, if you want to start your own business you will need to have a better plan in place before jumping ship. The forms you are looking are not hard to get and the same goes for any type of equipment that you’ll need to do your job.
Among other options for you would be to renegotiate your rental fees. Sometimes studio/gym owners are willing to work with the trainer instead of losing their business. You will need to start doing your own networking and marketing in order to get new clients and get your name out there. You will also need to consult with an accountant and/or a lawyer to help you set up your business and make sure you are not doing anything wrong or illegal. These are the first steps I would recommend for you to start with. Also finding a new location(s) should be your next step. I’m not sure if you want to be a mobile trainer or work out of a gym or only one location. I guess this will depend on the type of training you want to provide.
I hope this helps.
Yes, there are a lot of opportunities in the gig economy now that you could make some money doing and save up for the equipment you need part time. Another option is to look for other trainers in the area and see if you could work out a partnership agreement with them where you could use their equipment in exchange for something – helping to train one of their clients or helping some other way.
