staffing plan
I will assume you want help with how to schedule staff for your fitness facility. You should monitor your facility patron volume throughout the day for at least a week (initially just to get a schedule started) and staff your front desk and floor according. That is, more staff on the clock during your peak hours. One strategy is to arrange to have staff schedules overlap during the peak times. For example, schedule one trainer on the floor and one person on the front desk from 5 am to 1 pm and then another trainer and front desk person from 11 am to 9 pm, if you have a peak time from about 11 am to 1 pm. If you use shorter shifts, just adjust for the length of a normal shift. You can also let your staff voluntary/sign up for peak time shifts of any lenght of time that you need. Staff tend to work harder if they are not forced to work when they don’t want to or during hours that are difficult for them with life outside the gym. That is a simple example, but it works very well for most facilities. If you find you are not getting the answers you need, you might try asking again being more specific.
I teach topics like this and other facility related courses (like safety and maintneance, and more) as CECs. For more information, you can email Martin at [email protected]
