I am the Asst. Fitness Director at the Army Navy Country Club so I have worked with many golfers in our facility. Many good suggestions have been made so far but something different that I can suggest is to take a look at your client’s posture. Many people including many golfers have a forward head and rounded shoulder posture. This posture inhibits a proper back swing and follow thorough. If you can help improve your client’s posture his game will improve and he will think you are a genius. Try to perform SMR on Upper Traps, Sternocliedomastoid, Levator Scapulae,Lats, and Thoracic Spine. Stretch Upper Traps, Sternocliedomastoid, Levator Scapulae, Lats, and Pecs. Strengthen Mid and Lower Traps, Rhomboids, Rotator Cuff muscles, and Neck Extensors. If you are looking for a great resource for understanding the biomechanics of a gold swing and how a personal trainer can work with a client to prepare her body to play better golf get Paul Chek’s book “The Golf Biomechanic’s Manual”. This book is fabulous.
