Should I include static stretches in a dynamic workout?

Research says those who have tight muscles and limited range of motion in some joi ts should do static stretches followed by dynamic warm up drills before the workout and static stretches at the end. Those who have no issues can progress from dynamic warmups to workout and finish with static stretching.

For athletes static stretches prior to dynamic workout will reduce power output.

Yes. Static, dynamic, just words. If you are a runner you do them all the time. Or if you are a cross-country skier try heading out into the hills without some stretching. I don’t care if it’s static or dynamic, it just feels good and helps prepare me for the day’s run.

Not necessary, but it’s up to you. Personally, I don’t do static stretching.
