Do you think being on beat and following musical phrases should be a must during strength training classes? I am having a hard time to follow musical phrases when I cue for the correct posture and emphasize the importance of the performed exercise, talk about the muscles that we are working, motivate the class…etc.
I agree with Karin. As instructors we need to make sure our primary focus is on safety, proper execution, correct progression and most importantly our classes need to make sense and be taught professionally. If the music is dominant, this can’t happen.
I have turned my music completely off on many occasions for the very reason you are asking this question!
