Recommendations to lose excess skin/fat after weight loss of 50 lbs (2 lbs per wk)?
Hello Louis,
Congratulations on your loss of 50 pounds…what a great achievement!
Many factors come into play with excessive skin after weight loss to retract…age, genetics, gender, nutrition, time etc.
However, skin might not ever contract either…so one must be prepared for that as well.
Some people go to the extreme to have it surgically removed which can be a risky procedure and advice from your physician is highly recommended.
Sincerely,
Michael
Hello Louis Moore,
Good for you, you must feel so much better, congratulations.
With that in mind, you are also in a healthier state, which is something to bear in mind.
Yes, shedding one to two pounds a week is the way to go.
Keep up the great work of following your healthy lifestyle and give your skin a chance to “catch up”. If you are still not happy, you may want to speak with your doctor.
I agree with Michael Saiz that the skin could possibly remain stretched past the point of your wishes. I hope you do not let that discourage you from remaining as healthy as possible.
Best of luck and health to you.
Take care,
Natalie.
Have your client seek a consult with a dermatologist. That consult can help determine ‘next steps.’
