If I only want to open a small PT studio space, do I still need a D2 licence, like you would need for leisure centre?

Mike, you need to address this question with the agency responsible for business licenses. Here in Raleigh, NC, I would contact the ‘City of Raleigh’.

Check out the business department for your city and follow the proper procedures.

Ditto. For any questions regarding ‘licensure’ for businesses ALWAYS check with your local municipality. In addition to business license information, it is definitely NECESSARY to check into zoning as well if you are planning your studio in a typically residential area.

Each county and city has different rules and ways to calculate what they want you to pay in taxes. I would go to your local chamber of commerce.
