The walk versus jog debate will always exist; because, everyone is at their own level of fitness and trains for their own reason. This is where personal training benefits people the most: figuring out what works best for them at a certain time. There are softer surfaces for running when someone chooses to run. Sometimes the proper amount of force on the joints is a healthy way to strengthen the joints; but, remember to balance the running/impact forces with the right program design.
