Hi! I have just been told by my doc that I have plantar fasciitis due to overuse. I do one class a day ( strength training, mind-body, aerobics n step through the week). I also play tennis thrice a week for recreation.
Any suggestions how to continue the classes while trying to recover? I am doing the necessary stretches, massage n ice as per doc’s orders.
When I taught aerobics & step classes, I made sure I bought a good cross trainer shoe. Nike always worked well for my foot. But you may have to look at several different brands to see which one would work best for you. You will need a shoe that will have support for any lateral movement and good cushioning for forward movement. I would stay away from running shoes as these do not provide the support for lateral movement. I believe someone else commented to purchase 2 pair in order to switch them out. That is a good idea if you can afford to purchase 2 pairs.
