I normally work with mid age adults when it comes to Personal Training. Although I do have experience with kids when it comes to group classes(I teach martial arts part time outside my PT). However one of my Personal Training clients has asked me to work one day a week one on one with his son. And I was just looking for some advice when it comes to working with students that age. Due to the fact that hes to young for a PAR-Q would permission from the parents and basic medical information be sufficient in its place? Any advice would be appreciated.
from the paperwork perspective, I would apply much if the same rules as for adults but the contract and liability waiver need parental consent. I would also apply the same rules for a medical release from a physician if a review of the medical history seems to warrant that for you.
