Mobile Personal Training Pricing?
I’m in the process of deciding on pricing for my mobile personal training business. The average per session rate in my area is $75-$90 per hour. I’m stuck on deciding my per session rate; I’m planning to offer 45 minute sessions, should I charge somewhere around the area average or be competitive to those prices and charge $5-$10 cheaper? Taking in regards it’s 15 minutes less but I’m traveling to their homes. Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful and appreciated, thank you!
For clients who live very close to me, I charge within a few dollars of what they’d pay to work out with me at the gym where I train.
I’ve been wrestling with my pricing for farther drives than 10 minutes. I’ve only had a couple of clients outside that radius and I’ve charged about $20 more for that.
What did you end up doing?
I charge what I think is fair for what the client wants and what I have to deal with in providing the service (travel, traffic, high or low maintenance client, etc.). And when I have all the hours of work that I want, my price goes up considerably for adding clients. At that point they are getting my time that is for me and family time. It is much more valuable and it costs them more.
I have wondered the same thing. I get folks saying I should charge more or I charge too much. I am wondering if you charge for fitness assessments, work out plans that you prepare for them when not working out with you? I am not sure how to charge. I realize my hourly is $65.00. I am thinking of raising to $75.00 an hour. Also, Do any of you charge for the time you spend on putting together their training plan?
Some clients want in home training, nutrition coaching and meal plans. I am not sure hwo to charge for the whole package? Not sure how much I charge for the hour I am spending calculating their macronutritient, and putting their plan together.
Could you give me advice on this?
Hi Louis,
I’m sure by now you have figured it out. In my case I always charge for a 60 minute workouts (even if sometimes it doesn’t take that long). My rates are based on my experience and qualifications and not what others charge. I also take in consideration the travel time to the client’s location.
Best,
Harris
