Personal Trainer Marketing
Hi Laura. In addition to Fitness Connect, there are a myriad of ways that we as personal trainers can market ourselves. Websites, blogs, direct marketing such as email blasts, and flyers. Participation in local health fairs. Co-sponsoring community fitness events and many, many more.
I hope that this helps.

Marketing a business is a lot easier than marketing yourself… so, market yourself AS a business and reap the benefits. Telling people about how wonderful Laura Myers is as a trainer is okay but telling others about how wonderful the Laura Myers training method is, makes a better ball game when marketing to a broader audience versus just an individual. If there are no other employees then its just you talking about you (this is where I had much trouble when I started out) and its hard to be taken seriously without sounding like a braggart. Speak of the abilities and wisdom you have as if it belonged to something bigger than yourself.

All good suggestions posted thus far. Also get out an talk to people. Join local clubs; I belong to two currently, one is a Women’s Network made up of all female business owners (for the most part) and the other is a Professional Referral Organization which is also made up of business owners. Initially I thought of the members as my potential clients, now I see them differently. Now I see them as potential referral sources and partners. In one of the clubs I met a naturopathic doctor with a large clientele and she and I are partnering up to do a 30-day life transformation challenge. She will advertise to her existing clientele and I will with mine, which provides the potential of doubling what I may have been able to do by myself. In one of the other clubs, a chiropractor offered me the use of his office to do classes (which he advertised for in his office to his clientele) Another idea is to get out to local clubs (that you don’t belong to) and offer to do presentations. Then you are speaking to a group of people talking about what is special about what you do and also think about speaking about a hot topic right in the fitness industry.
