I have a loved one with RA. She is young, 29 years old and has been suffering from RA since she was 17. The pain consumes almost every joint in her body. She has flexibility during her workday (it is at home) for her to exercise throughout. What type of exercises and stretches can she do at home to alleviate both pain and stiffness?
Hello Lawrence with Gym Insight,
I am sorry to hear this; but, there is always something that can be done.
Decompression work may help. She can do what she enjoys, but on a lower intensity to keep inflammation at bay. Wrist and ankle weights may help.
I think the pool is the best idea. Have you seen the treadmill pools? Would that be an option? People swim in place, use a treadmill on the floor and more.
I hope this helps. I wish you and your loved one the best.
