Getting New Clients in gym with no outside foot traffic
I work at a private gym that does both Semi-Private (5 or less clients) and private training. I mostly train the semi private sessions, which being a relatively new trainer, has helped me gain a good amount of training experience.
I d have a couple of my own clients though would like to get more but am not very sure how to do this since the only people that come in to the gym are already in either the semi private or private sessions. I have tried thumbtack but it isn’t currently very economically feasible, I’ve gotten a few from craigslist. I have also put profiles on yourtrainer, ideafit, ipersonaltrainer.net but haven’t really gotten much of any leads.
I was wondering if anyone might have any inexpensive suggestions on how I might be able to gain/solicit new clients
Hi Dani,
Your current clients are your best form of marketing because word-of mouth and referrals will get you new clients. In addition to your current efforts, give 110% to each client and go above and beyond their expectations. It takes time to build a following.
You have a great specialty client base with seniors (listed on your profile here). Market to that group if that is an area of interest for you. Use that to your advantage and perhaps check out some of the local senior centers. You could make connections or offer free lunch and learn or fitness presentation to start. You could also connect with doctors, chiropractors, and physical therapists in your area for professional connections.
Also, for the senior population, think about taking it outside and offer your own walking or hiking group with some flexibility added. The senior population is growing and you have a specialty market there for focus.
I hope some of these suggestions help you.
Best,
Christine
