I work at a private gym that does both Semi-Private (5 or less clients) and private training. I mostly train the semi private sessions, which being a relatively new trainer, has helped me gain a good amount of training experience.
I d have a couple of my own clients though would like to get more but am not very sure how to do this since the only people that come in to the gym are already in either the semi private or private sessions. I have tried thumbtack but it isn’t currently very economically feasible, I’ve gotten a few from craigslist. I have also put profiles on yourtrainer, ideafit, ipersonaltrainer.net but haven’t really gotten much of any leads.
I was wondering if anyone might have any inexpensive suggestions on how I might be able to gain/solicit new clients
Have you tried other gyms? People definitely prefer to workout closer to their homes or work. Find new clients anywhere! Then go to www.GymLynx.com and rent hourly gym space, closer to your clients.
I would go around to all of the nearby businesses and introduce myself. Ask to leave a small stack of business cards in a high traffic area/lobby. Ask to put a sign up in the break room for a meet and greet at your location or nearby park. Things like that or other things. Free introductory session? Free registration? A sign up sheet for a new group with a focus like weight loss, improved balance, HIIT,etc.\\ What is your current favorite training format? And carry business cards everywhere you go and give them to everyone you talk to and meet.
Think local. As others have mentioned – you need to get offline and go make some strategic partnerships with local business nearby. Do you have any chiropractors or running shoe stores? Both would probably allow you to hold a clinic or some kind of joint marketing event. You don’t have to give anything away – but you should both have some kind of discount or referral offer ready. We have done this with a similar business model in Chicago. http://www.krustrengthandfitness.com/
Are there any other businesses around you? Sometimes, a cross-marketing event can be beneficial for both of you.
The existing clients you have, offer them free sessions for bringing you new clients. I have a referral system for any of my small group training clients who brings me a new client that buys a 10-pack or more, they get 2 free sessions. Since everything I teach is in a group, giving away 2 sessions doesn’t cost me any time, and in the long run it gains me revenue. I have a couple of people who LOVE getting free stuff so they’ve grown my revenue!
My technique to grab more clients is buying email subscribers.
I get in touch very personally with weight loss sites. And i pay them .15$/email.
Lets say, last week i bought 1500 subscribers from this website : http://besthcgdropswebsite.com/. Out of 1500, 11 conversions happened in a week.
This is how i grab clients for my diet program.
Let me know if you need any help.
