NEED SOME HELP for Equipment –
Hi all,
I was wondering how do you define the number of equipment you will need?
I’m building my business plan for a fitness, how can I know how many treadmills would I need?
I can have maximum 1000 customers in my facility, should I count 1 treadmill out of 50 customers? Is there any equation that I need to do?
Is it the same for instance the barbells?
THANKS ALOT FOR YOUR ANSWERS
That is the amount snap and anytime usually hold in their facility and they usually do about 5 treadmills. If you have 4 to 6 ellipticals along with a few bikes (1 recumbent and 1 upright), you should be fine. 7 treadmills would be very nice and more than enough if you can afford it with 6 ellipticalls. Other options are stepmills (1 or 2). What kind of machines and/or free weights are you looking at? I can give you a better idea if you are going for a general fitness center. How many sq feet?
It looks like you will have plenty of other cardio type equipment for people to use. Obviously the more treadmills you have, the more people you can have in your facility. The reason there is not a number per sq feet is because most people do not actually use their membership all the time. We have over 1000 members and have 7 treadmills. At times we could use 1 or 2 more but most of the time, we do not need anymore. Anytime Fitness will usually have 500 to 800 members and they carry 5 treadmills.
Hope this helps,
Noel
