I have trained with this trainer since last Dec. I have gone 2x a week, and rarely, if ever cancel. I follow his program, eat right, treat him very respectfully, and thought that we had a very good relationship. My timeslot is 7 – 8PM, and he is moving an hour away from the gym in Jan. His first client is at 5AM. I understand that it is inconvenient to be his only evening client, but I would think that he would try to offer some sort of solution to continue the relationship. He has done nothing, and I am really annoyed.
Completely agree with Nancy.
A) If a trainer has more interest and heavier client load early in the mornings they usually do make it a priority to have a “cut off” time in the evening to allow them to eat, sleep and program. Every client should have a trainer who is operating at their best and no one (client or trainer) does well being sleep deprived.
B) Some trainers do change their business hours periodically and this is largely based on availability. His commute means his availability has changed and unfortunately changed his training time with you. I wouldn’t take anything personal by it, and if you really do like him ask him if there is a way you could find new time slots that work best for both of you. He was open enough to tell you the reason why and it does not sound like it is personal more logistical.
C) Also, sometimes it is good to switch up training styles…maybe this is the universe opening a new door for you 🙂
